Dinu's ACL surgery

Dinu 08-18-06Dinu had his anterior cruciate ligament put back together yesterday morning. The surgeon said everything looked good (as if she would say anything else) and he should be fine in a few weeks. He was in a lot of pain yesterday when we first came home, but is feeling much better today. He has a pump dispensing a painkiller directly to the nerve in his knee, and that helps a lot. It is connected to a catheter in his femoral artery. He'll have that taken away on Monday and then it's just percocet, which will be fine.

However, I'm hoping his soccer days are over. I'd rather see him play cricket.

  1. Good luck to the patient and you the nurse! Miss P said Perks are awful and hopes he does well on them for pain. Glad everything went well so far. You know something about pain don't you wwabbit.

  2. Channeling Lynyrd Skynyrd ... I know a little 'bout [pain], and baby I can guess the rest!

I don't know why people think percocet is so great. It's an ok pain killer, but that's all. I ended up on a half dose, because the normal dose makes me pukey.
