Give Me A Break

Click on the above Give Me A Break to watch.

20/20 Stossel took on the not popular side of Global Warming. Yes, we need to adjust our lifestyles on this planet so as not to leave a huge footprint. But, once again the media swallowed the hook, line, and sinker without doing complete research. I expect actors, and big money people to be this way, but the media and it's salient traits will not shove this one down my throat until all the research is complete. Good for Al Gore for helping move us into a greener place, but shame on him for backing misinformation to support the reasons why.

  1. Wow, you have to hand it to John Stossel. Nothing like interviewing third graders to get a real idea of what's going on.

I think there is a lot, a LOT, of exaggeration on both sides, as there always is in any debate. You can take ANY set of statistics and twist it to fit whatever argument you want to promote. THAT is a fact.

But if I stop and think of what the atmosphere, or the planet in general, would be like if people suddenly disappeared, it becomes absurd to think we aren't adding to already existing problems.

The bottom line is, what possible harm is there in starting to take this issue seriously? What harm will come of trying to be more efficient, less wasteful, cleaner? As far as I'm concerned, that is where the discussion really ends. We can choose to start working toward cleaning things up now, or we can take the Shrub administration's approach and leave it up to our grandchildren. What do we care, we won't have to deal with any of it, right?
