I am a big fan of Click and Clack, the Tappit Brothers - also known as Tom and Ray Magliozzi, the hosts of the popular NPR radio show Car Talk. Not only do they give great advice, they are witty and funny and smart. They also have a substantial website. I found a great local mechanic for PopPop's truck in the Mechanics Files listings on their site. Anyway, Ray has a Modest Proposal for our gasoline addicted country. Check it out here.

It's interesting you post this today. Here in the Keys we are begging for an answer. Our gas prices are higher than most as you can imagine. This was a posted comment in our local paper this morning. Especially on a 1x3 mile island with most folks biking or using green vehicles.....
ReplyDelete"How come we can't get E-85 [ethanol fuel] down here? There are new cars down here that can use it and it's cheaper than regular gas. I sure would appreciate it if you would find out why it isn't coming down here?"
