Happy Easter, my peeps!

Happy Easter, my peeps!

What a nice Easter we had. DamCat made dinner and hosted a good crowd. Dog and FluffyDuf were already there when Queenee, PopPop and I arrived. Shortly behind us was DamCat's father J-Sr., then brother J, C and baby J. What a good baby he is, so quiet and smiley. Finally Rene arrived and the gang was assembled for a ham feast. Everything was delicious.

Most of us have been sick lately. DamCat's father has had a couple close calls in the last several months, and it seems to have mellowed him some. I spent a long time talking with him about various things and really enjoyed the conversation. Now honestly, who would have guessed that would happen? I'm hoping I have him talked into cutting down on his smoking and maybe even starting a diary, just notes about things that he's done in his life. I've tried to get PopPop to do the same, to no avail. Perhaps J-Sr. will understand how much his effort will be appreciated years from now.

Turns out FluffyDuf got sick the same day as me. She said she didn't have the same high fever, but she was down and out just the same. Dog has managed to hold his own, like the Wasabi Peas, who have remained healthy throughout. Deacon says he's feeling better, finally. Queenee and PopPop are still coughing - that is a nasty cold that just keeps hanging on. I'm still coughing too, but it's a productive cough, and my lungs should clear out eventually. Meanwhile, they rattle on.

Deacon took some photos and we'll get them online asap. I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I enjoyed mine. Thanks so much to DamCat and family!

Darn, I just realized I left my peeps at DamCat's house!

  1. Wow...look at all the peeps! We had such a good time Easter! I'm glad that it was enjoyed by all. Only a minor glitch when I forgot to heat up the raisin sauce and the rolls were a little late...oh well. I didn't realize until later in the evening that I never even put out Queenee's lemon sorbets! She brought these pretty sorbets in fancy lemon cups and I put them in the freezer right away...very happy that I got them all to fit. Well, that was it. Out of site, out of mind. Sorry Queenee. I just plain forgot they were in there. Too much wine perhaps?? It was still a great day. And don't worry wabbit...the peeps will be coming with me today when I pick up the Peas. As for those pictures, I haven't even had time to look at them and download them into the computer, but I did ask the Peas to help me with that tonight, so hopefully you'll have some pics to look at real soon.

  2. Glitch? I promise you not one person noticed. And rolls should arrive late anyway, otherwise you fill up on them and miss out on all the other food, which was fab!

  5. After much arranging... Everyone took that day off of work. We borrowed a small jet to Tortola, and had a typical island easter dinner on the beach. After many tropical drinks, and an afternoon sail, we flew back home to the Keys. It was wonderful of Wayne to let us borrow his personal jet. Thanks again!

  6. I'm happy to hear that the Krew had such a festive holiday. I'm sorry I was in such a hurry and had to drop you off by 'chute, but I had to put out some fires on Fiji before heading over to Guam to assist in the maneuvers the Navy has going on. I hope the trip back in the inflatable was pleasant. Glad to have obliged.

  7. Oh my word... one of the highlights was jumping and floating down over the islands... what a view. And don't be silly, I wouldn't call a 72ft sailing yacht an inflatable, your on-board crew is excellent.
I hope everyone knows that the whole exile/ahanga thing is a cover-up for what's really going on!

  8. I expressed your satisfaction to the boys on the HMS Inflatable. They were gratified, but also chagrined that they were unable to supply you with the Dom Periognon vintage that you requested. But truly, the fault is mine. I fear we were a little extravagant last week when I had a few friends over. Scarlett, Cameron and Keira it appears had tastes much akin to your own. My apologies.

  9. How do you find the time? We were thrilled with the (secretly hidden) champagne! I also liked very much that Palma Cristal Beer from Cuba. How will I ever drink a Land Shark again!!!
