A-Rod is staying in NY and the Yankees have dropped out of the bidding for Mike Lowell. The Patriots are still undefeated. The Celtics are, amazingly, still undefeated. The Revolution are in the US MLS final for the third year in a row (maybe they'll even win one - hey, it could happen). UConn is #1 in the Big East conference and BC is #2 in the ACC. The Bruins are, well, ok, there had to be one grey cloud, but they aren't terrible. It's good to be a sports fan in Beantown right now.
Did I mention that it's been five years since my lumpectomy? I had my final appointment with the radiologist yesterday and all is well. I'll be off Tamoxifen in another couple months. Yippee!
It's time for a humor break.

Your a bevy of fun as usual... Thanks! and I love the quote regarding the Revolution.. "So is New England after revenge? Nah. After going 0-3, they don't care who they're playing."
ReplyDeleteGo New England! What a year, enjoy and embrace it! I'm really diggin' it.
Five years of Tamoxifen.... geez wabbit... you really stood up for womankind... I for one thank you! I have a friend who has two more years to go and she is having a very hard time of it. I told her of your story and it did help her find strength to follow through. I'm thrilled to hear all is well. Yippee indeed!!! Two survivors in our family is more than anyone could ask. We are blessed. Our boobs won't get us down! I'll sing a little song now that we sang so many years ago... "look at them giggle... "" LOL you know the rest.. Our Queen may be one shy but still has more than the two of us put together... Let's keep them healthy and do our monthly checks girls. The Queen and the Wabbit have not only become survivors... but submitted as test cases that will help our daughters and so on in the years to come... I give many thanks. Many, Many, MANY Thanks!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really one of the lucky ones when it comes to medication. I tend to react well with few of the usual side effects. For example, I've been on prednisone for decades, and it's just the last 5-6 years that I've started experiencing the physical problems that come with long-term corticosteroid use (my bullfrog throat is one). I've got a couple gripes with Tamoxifen, but overall, it could have been a whole lot worse. Now that the end is in sight, it seems like it all happened to someone else.
ReplyDeleteI'm really really good at compartmentalizing some things. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but it works well for me. If you're at all interested, earlier this year Stanley Fish wrote an interesting post in his NY Times blog Think Again about compartmentalizing. It's a good read.
You've opened a whole new post here wabbit with the Stanley Fish article. Thanks for sharing it this morning, I needed something thought provoking to start my day.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm in the middle of it all, due to consequence.
This brings me to poster #23 and the example given. That brings up soooooooooooo much to talk about.
I do believe that being able to, in your case wabbit, take your experience as a chapter that has finished is as healthy as it gets.
