D took some photos last night before the water had risen to its peak. Those condos in the background are very expensive. I hope everyone had flood insurance.
It's a real mess. Major roads north of Boston are closed. Many towns are largely under water. This is the worst flood NE has seen in about 80 years, we are told.
D has more photos. When he uploads them, I'll link to them from here.

I'll tell you wwabbit, that picture looks like my street, house and yard during Wilma! Terrible mess,,, good luck to anyone who is experiencing it. Beware of the Black Mold!
ReplyDeleteI remember those pictures! Also how happy you were to have gotten the mega-roof just before the hurricane hit. And the adventure of the car rental. And you are still fixing up, right?
ReplyDeleteGirl, you need a vacation!
You know wabbit... I do need a vacation... but I'm caught up in the "If I spend on vacation, that is monies I could have used to replace a window". Hence the free crocs to work in, but I love them! When I try to wear mine out to shop everyone looks at me in my sarong with a pair of black crocs on and go NO MOM.. I'm going nowhere with you wearing those! We are still working on the house, yes. yes.. yes.. upstairs is done, just some painting. The ghetto is another story. All the doors have to be replaced and one window as well. We have structural columes to fix too. It's clean and mold free, but like I said.. it has been officially called the ghetto now. The guys go down and play their music, sing, have an old rusty ridge in there and "They can have it". My little studio to paint in will be a long time coming. Hey it's nice to have them down there. Not having a cellar or attic here, they are lovin' me letting them have their ghetto. I have to laugh,,, they have horrible taste in decorating! LOL. All kinds of junk hung up, placed about the way they like. It looks like Sanford and Son and they are happy. 'nuff said.
