On their way back home

I called Miss P and Logito at 11:30pm and they were just crossing the Delaware Bridge, so they were making good time. From that point they probably had another two hours to go to get to Washington DC. Miss P sounded good, awake, and she's a good driver, so I'm sure they'll be fine.

Keep us posted on their progress, Key Dear!

  1. They arrived about 1:30 last night and were getting settled when I spoke with them at 2am. Both were in great spirits at 12:30 singing at the top of their lungs on the phone when I called and Logito was navigating to find the correct exit & passing toll money as we spoke. He said they're a great team! I fell asleep around 3:30am......

  2. Received a call from Logito just before 10am... they were in North Carolina and making great time. Got up and out around 6am.
They had a wonderful picnic cookout at Kimmies Dads place and swam in the pool and really enjoyed themselves during the day there and headed to the Wash DC Mall in the afternoon around 3pm. He said they walked the entire Mall around the reflecting pool and the only thing Miss P didn't do was accompany him to the Lincoln Memorial which I know was determined to see. She rested her foot while he was there. He loved it and was glad they stopped. They took pictures and I'm excited to see and post them for ya'll. Today I'm packing for Mr. B. He has a pal Zeb ((from BoyScoutCamp) (who Pea met while she was here)) going to drive him to Miami to his hotel for his early flight out in the morning. Which saves me!! A neighbor will come over today or tomorrow to help me install my new Electric Tankless Water Heater! and I don't want to miss an opportunity to be here to do it if he arrives afterwork today.
I'm sure P & L will be in or past Jacksonville today.. so they are on schedule, I'm hedging they head straight to Orlando to stay with friends there. More later gators...

  5. Geez, I hope not too!! They did have a tour bus pull into their lane while they were about in the middle area of the bus.. Polly laid on the horn and got as far in the left lane as she could! The bus jerked back into it's own lane and they figured all the passengers got jerked out of their seats. That was the first night though. All well after that. So, here is latest update unless you've spoken with them, they switch the phone back and forth to hers then his number. They are about 25 miles from Florida border or 45 from Jax .. however you want to look at it. Moving right along and it's 5pm now. Mr. L is pushing her to make it to Miami tonite to see Mr. Bill at his hotel so they can say good bye.. Miss P and I both said hey,,, that's another 7-8 hours at least.
He just left with a friend for Miami... packing him up and remembering all his stuff for him is a task in itself I'll tell ya. But, he's off.. had to work today also, so poor guy will sleep tonite and hopefully hear his wakeup call in the morning at 5am.
P & L are going to bypass Jax since they are still in driving mode, hey, Cat they may well end up near Titusville and if so I'll tell them to stay where we did. I thought that was a really nice place in case they don't head more west to Orlando,,, that is the exit where they would take a western road over to it. Okay, they are on Miss P's phone now if anyone wants to give a shout out.
    more later!
I miss my peas I wish ya'll were coming too :(

  6. Well, ya'll knew something would come up.... they checked into a Daytona Days Inn about 7:30pm yesterday after a long days drive.
This morning they got up to find a flat tire on the car.
Of all things.... they are happy it didn't happen on the highway, that is the up side of it. They are still in Daytona now at 11am trying to clear their heads as to "is the spare tire a ""real"" tire and if they have the entire back unloaded is that what they'll find? I'm sick to my stomach for them right now.. Gotta give Miss P a call back to see what they figured out.. What a crappy thing to happen.

  7. 11:30am... just spoke with them again. Alamo wanted to send someone out to switch out the tire with the spare and then drive to the Daytona Airport to switch out the car. And, charge them 65.00 for that service. Can you imagine? Well, the spare is outside, under the back of the vehicle and as Logan was trying to find the release for the tire an employee of the Days Inn came over and asked if they needed help. He found out how to release the tire, and was working on getting the flat off the car as we spoke. He will change the tire for them. She'll give him a fifty when he's done and a huge sincere thank you. I'll follow up with a note when she gets home to the company thanking them for having such a fine, helpful employee on staff.
They will drive to a gas station to ensure the tire is enflated properly and recheck the others before they get on the highway.. so, with that said... hopefully they will get on their way by noon.
I called Mr. B this morning to make sure he was up and moving. He called me back from the airport at 5:45 saying all the computers from Alaskan Airlines were down and the lines were crazy and people who had flights at 6:10 were directly infront of him... his was 7:10... I got a call about 7:30 from him saying he was on the plane and that they processed everyone really fast, and made an open lane for the xray area... take shoes off... get moving... and everyone sped to their planes and the delay was not bad at all. He has a 4 hr layover in Seattle so he wasn't worried.. Thank goodness things are working out today! now if my neighbor (the Trane air conditioner guy who Rory worked for years ago) will just show up afterwork today to help me (Rory) with my hot water heater!
Hey Cat... seems like waiting for the Cable guys... I refuse to let my other shoe fall off!!!

  8. So are the travelers shooting for getting home today?

What a nice person, the Days Inn guy, to go out and give them a hand like that. Not many like him around.

  9. i hope L&P arrive home safely and that B gets to Alaska alright. and as for all of you down there nothing else can go wrong cable, computer, windows, water heater, etc. i have a feeling that the rest of the year is going to be smooth sailing.

  10. thanks everyone... Just got another call 45 minutues ago.. they are in Key Largo and aprox. 2 hours away... I'm thinking about 7pm... they teased me saying ohhhhhh we're gonna stop at the Venetian Pool... but since they didn't get on the road till noon... that nixed that plan. I half expected them at noon today with them joking about the flat... but nope... it was the real deal. Miss P expects the car unloaded by 8pm... she plans a shower and is "going out".. Can you imagine? LOL
Go REDSOX.. I'll be watching them tonite as usual! as I post.. Mr. B is on his next plane from Seatle to Ketch. so he'll give me his last call then.. He sends hello's to everyone!
