Well, it finally happened.... the water heater rusted out and poured it's heart out all over the laundry room floor. We knew it was a matter of time post Wilma. Today we'll go buy another and make sure this one is put up on cement blocks to save it from the tiny storms that surge sea water onto it. Mr. Bill and I discussed that this is possibly the last thing that Wilma ruined? nah........ we didn't say that did we? It is just one more thing.
Today we wait for the Glass Guy to return again from Miami to switch out the truck window he hastily put in wrong. The window has leaked from rain for over a week now and he'll replace it with one that fits?? geez, it sticks out 1/4 an inch... how could he not see that? hmmmmm and he had tape on it with a note to leave the tape for a day then take it off. Well, I have left the tape and await what he'll do next. BTW for anyone not knowing why the truck back window needed replacing: Mr. R was doing the much needed yard work when we returned from our trip, and one of the tree trunks zipped along the bedliner and smashed the glass in the back window... "POOF" these things happen. Hopefully it gets done correctly today and we can go get a new water heater. We actually could live without it till November, hmmm now that's a thought.. LOL

Maybe you could get away with a tarp for the summer? No, the first good breeze and that would be gone. Better to get the window replaced, properly this time! Isn't the glass guy supposed to be a professional? Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for no flooding this year...
All hurricanes have been instructed to head south to, say, Venezuela. Lovely weather we're having in Florida this year. Y'all come down!
ReplyDeletewell, It is fixed properly now. Mr. Glassman came back and told me that he may have shut the door too hard when he finished up. He said that Toyota Tundra's are so air tight that it may have popped the window back out a little before it was set. He redid the seal and popped it back in place and advised not to use the truck for a day or open windows before closing the doors.. Alrighty then. So, no water heater today. and frankly... doesn't bother me a bit.. LOL my water is never cold anyway, cold is warm and warm is what we shower with to chill out.. and yes, lovely weather right now. Tomorrow is another day, I may sleep up on the porch and pray to the heavens tonite! Mr. Bill said that Monday night there is a wonderous gathering with the moon, venus and two other things.. things? he can't remember but he thinks that Saturn? will be one.. I need to go find out. Bad thing is that we'll be in Miami that night with too much light to see anything. I may have him take a rental car up and drop it off and say our good byes and see ya soons here on Cudjoe. I'm needed for Lobstering Tues, and Weds. that's 12 lobsters I can get. We ate some last night at our friends Thurston and Lovie (Mia and John Howe) Although, they'd let me sleep on the boat and would get my lobsters for me, which may be okay too! more later gators
ReplyDeleteYou simply can't end the blog this week.. I'm still trying to catch up... I have a post still sitting waiting for me to finish it in the edit area... If anyone finds out the info on the night sky event please post .. thanks
ReplyDeleteYou know what? You're right. Even though I know you'd email everyone, the blog is best for sharing vacations and photos and things like that. I'll leave it as is until the end of the summer, then decide what I'm going to do. Maybe I'll just change the blog's name, since my original plans for BOE was something very different. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteAlrighty then, Most excellent... Make it Twisted Sistahs!!!!!! I'm in> emailing sux...
ReplyDeleteWell, I have been delaying my inside shower project and MUST get moving on it... but since the water heater incident and back truck window incident I'm leaning toward just putting up my beadboard that I already have and moving my washer and dryer into the spot... at least for the summer season while it's so great VIP room showering.. Mr. R agrees and Mr. B thinks I'm crazy. But why not... I'll have more $$ saved by November maybe and be able to do it the way I want then. Now I'll go down and measure to see if they will fit threw the bathroom door... I'll keep ya posted!
