A new tooth, knees and Ozzie

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Queenee had her tooth implant prep work done yesterday. She said it went very well, the dentist got it in the first try, after much cutting and scraping. It's ugly to look at now, but will be fine once it heals.

Our knees got the seal of approval from Dr. Sheehan last Friday. I remembered to take a photo of my x-rays this time, something I've been meaning to do for a while. Photographs of x-rays actually come out pretty well.

Deacon, DamCat and the YoungerPea went to the Ozzfest yesterday. I expect it will be a day or so before they have recovered enough to tell us how it was. Hopefully all bats and birds kept their heads.

Sophia managed to sneak out on PopPop yesterday. Actually, that isn't quite accurate - she did a very convincing impersonation of Ebony and he let her out. Try as we might, the ElderPea and I could not catch her to get her in the house. She spent the whole night out and finally came in this morning. Needless to say, she has been right with me since. She's exhausted from her big night. I'm just happy that she stayed out of the street.

  1. O GEEZ.... I bet you didn't sleep all night! Glad little Sofia came in okay.. She'll either beg to go back out and run back in immediately or she'll stay clear of the outside world. I bet her eyes were HUGE this morning, but also I bet the other cats kept an eye on her last night too. I know you had a sigh of relief this morning... Glad she is fine.

  2. Also... when looking at your xrays... the front view one looks like inside of the new unit touches on a screw part?? I thought that it would either have two spots or none... the photos came out great... Very Cool..
I'll have to try it with Miss P's (stone &/or ankle) We have no idea if that stone is still in her... she has had only a couple minor pain issues and we think it is stuck in there "somewhere".

  3. Yeah, not a good night's sleep last night. I suppose I should accept that she'll either be fine or she'll be hit by a car, but I'm very attached to her. I would be very unhappy if she was killed, and she has never been an outdoor cat, so she knows nothing about traffic.

There is a plastic surface on top of the tibial portion of the knee replacement that simulates the removed cartilage. The Arthritis foundation has a nice little movie about total knee replacement.

  4. DamCat was here for a bit today to pick up the ElderPea, and she said the concert was pretty good, better than she expected. They left while Ozzie was still on stage, so they avoided the jam getting out of the parking lot, and were home early-ish, not long after midnight.
