No, not that Burning Man, but our very own PopPop getting in some burning before the town deadline arrived. The deer seem to like walking through the ashes that remain, they chose the burn pile path rather than walk on the grass.

Where's all the brush gathered from?
ReplyDeleteJust around the yard, leaves, fallen branches, whatever will burn. A couple peach trees had to go this year, they had developed some kind of fungus or rot and couldn't be salvaged. That's it for this year, May 1 was the final day to burn.
ReplyDeleteHe's pretty brave and bold out there alone. Hope he had the hose handy!!! Glad you were keeping an eye on him! MAY DAY MAY DAY Looks like alot of winter debris.. love those controlled burns!! What's up with the deer?? They are like you wabbit .... I remember you chewing the heads off of match sticks... Are they licking at the ash do you think?
ReplyDeleteGreat deer photo's! They are tame around the back 40 aren't they! The burning man photo's have me smelling a campfire. That's some lens you have and a steady hand!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the deer just like the crunchy sound. That's what I liked about ashes, the texture. Speaking of eating ashes and burnt match heads, there is a name for that particular disorder: pica. I'm sure there is an even more specific name, but I can't think of it right now.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm the only one in the family with a named eating habit. Queenee might have a mild form of pagophagia, which is a drag since we've had to disconnect the icemaker in the freezer. PopPop could have been called gooberphagic years ago.
There is a named syndrome for everything.
Okay,,,, so the above was Wabbit again.... LOL... I actually thought about the Goober thing 'till I started LMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's weird, I thought I had logged out and logged back in. Oh well.
