Whiners

This shit really fries me. If you want to go out and get drunk off your ass, fine, it's your brain (or lack thereof), but don't get behind the wheel of a car. If you do, and you kill yourself, too damn bad, and thanks for taking yourself out of the gene pool. If you get pulled over and fail a breathalizer, your ass should be thrown in jail. There is NO excuse for driving drunk. NONE. I will not entertain anyone's bullshit about how they are an alcoholic and can't help it. Turn in your friggin driver's license. You do not, DO NOT, have the right to put anyone else at risk for your own problems. I have not one whit of sympathy for anyone who finds themselves in a bind because they CHOSE to drive drunk, or to get into a car with someone who was intoxicated. Boo hoo. What a load of crap.

The father of Josh Hancock filed suit Thursday, claiming a restaurant provided drinks to the St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher even though he was intoxicated prior to the crash that killed him.

The suit, filed in St. Louis Circuit Court by Dean Hancock of Tupelo, Miss., does not specify damages. Mike Shannon's Restaurant, owned by the longtime Cardinals broadcaster who starred on three World Series teams in the 1960s, is a defendant in the case along with Shannon's daughter, Patricia Shannon Van Matre, the restaurant manager...

WTF? Does nobody have the character and integrity to accept responsibility for their own choices and actions? I am so sick of people who blame everyone and anyone for their own mistakes, who refuse to stand up and be accountable and accept the consequences of their actions, who spend every waking moment whining and feeling sorry for themselves and complaining and lying to anyone they can con. I can only hope that their lousy karma comes back to bite them in the ass.

You'll notice that the lawsuit doesn't include anyone who can afford to hire an expensive lawyer. Scumbags. Where were they the last time Josh Hancock was driving under the influence? May you reap what you sow.

  1. I just cut about 6 paragraphs out of this post.... Thank me!
There are companies just waiting for the contracts to install breathalyzers in every single vehicle on the road. If you can't start the car, you can't drive it.
Sounds like they are suing first as their defense at being sued.

  3. What is SRR?

Hey, if having breathalysers in cars will reduce the number of drunken idiots on the roads, I'm all for them. You have to pay for a cab, or wake someone up, because you couldn't restrain yourself? Too fucking bad. I can't believe how selfish people are. Driving is a privilege, not a right, but too many people act as if the roads are there only for them. I have no sympathy for them at all.

But the thing that galls me here is that the family of someone who has been known to drive under the influence is now suing the restaurant, the bartender, Eddie's Towing (whose flatbed tow truck was struck by Hancock's SUV), the tow truck driver, and the driver whose stalled car was being assisted by Hargrove. What the hell is wrong with these people? Someone's car breaks down, your drunk shithead of an irresponsible son hits them, and his death is their fault?

Where was Hancock's family when his drunk driving behavior started? Someone ought to sue them.

They may find out they receive many lawsuits against his estate ... why they sued first is just their defense, I swear.
Lets think out of the box for a minute. Josh Hancock's life insurance policy is probably null and void, contract monies canceled, in fact the ball team could sue "his" estate for breach of contract, maybe? The family will end up owing a large amount of money after this all dries out on the line. I hope Josh gave his family something they can sell to pay for all the worries he put upon them. Who the hell knows, I'm sure they are trying not to hate their son for the mess he left behind. Misplaced anger/sadness isn't going to help bring him back ... Sounds like he was a wild child that had a huge opportunity and talent, why the heck didn't the police give him a ticket 3 days before? How many other tickets were waved? His laundry will be aired. He was a rising star.
I'm glad Paris may be put in jail because we need to know fame can't take DUI's away.

  5. I'd be very surprised if anyone sued Josh Hancock's family. Any damage done will be covered by insurance, regardless of whether he was drunk or not. What his father is doing is small and cheap. Your son is dead. Suing people to blame them for his death is money-grubbing.

We need a moratorium put on law schools in this country.

  6. May 31st update:

"The investigators determined Hancock was drinking in moderation, socializing with teammates and friends, and employees of Shannon's," Lobdell said. "He did not appear to be intoxicated to any patrons or employees who came forward to be interviewed." Hancock was driving alone when he died in the early hours of April 29 after his sport utility vehicle struck the back of a flatbed tow truck that was stopped in a driving lane of Interstate 64 assisting a stalled car. The tow truck driver and the car's owner were not hurt...

...investigators spoke with the woman Hancock was talking to on his cell phone and the manager of the bar at the Westin Hotel, just a few blocks from Shannon's.

[Restaurant manager] Van Matre has said she offered to call a cab for Hancock, but he declined, saying he was walking to the Westin. The bar manager there told investigators he didn't know if Hancock appeared at his bar.

Let's hope some common sense prevails in the lawsuit against the owner of the stalled car and the towing company.
